To Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Club
On behalf of the Rotorua Tennis club I would like to formally invite members of your club to travel through to Rotorua next year in order to try and w(rench) the Willy Stevens Challenge Trophy from our grasp. If that invitation is taken up then I will leave it up to Leona and Ron to work out the minor details as to when and how this challenge will take place.
This year our group of players travelled down to your club with a lot of tennis being played and meeting some great people. We appreciated the range of skill levels that was catered for and I can say that all our people enjoyed the weekend. Seeing the players out there on the tennis courts at your club with a brisk breeze blowing through allowed me to reflect back on the good times I had with our mutual friend Willy. I reiterate what I said to everyone on the day, thank you and your club for the hospitality shown to us when we were there and it would be great to see you up our way next year. And a special thanks to Ron and Leona for arranging the weekend.
